We strive for Plan A!

New Ground strives to work on Plan A every day.How do you want to fill your time? What have you always wanted to be doing? Will you spend time working on Plan A or Plan B?

WoodwardDesign strives to work on Plan A every day. We are blessed to work with such wonderful clients that keep us inspired to create new innovative designs. We love our job!

This summer we have some great Plan A adventures coming up. Jeff is traveling to Alaska with family and will be taking lots of photos. Falyn is planning on being outdoors more—riding her new bike, hiking, and gardening (without getting lyme disease). Carrie’s Plan A for the summer is eating a lot of ice cream…one of her favorite places to get ice cream is The Blueberry Haus in Guilford, VT. 32 Plan A Favors! Carrie’s current favorites: Chocolate Chip Cookie Monster and Blackberry Chocolate Chip.

What’s your Plan A?

Deco the Halls

New ground branding, design, marketing for Latchis ArtsWe were recently asked to rebrand Latchis Arts in Brattleboro, Vermont. What a great and fun project this was! We led them through the renaming process (they used to be called the Brattleboro Arts Initiative), create a new logo, stationery, and design and program their new website, which you can view here.

Latchis Arts, as their cool new website states, “. . . acquired the Latchis Hotel and Theatre in 2003 and since then we have been renovating and restoring this art deco gem. The property houses a 30-room boutique hotel and four theatres, one of which, a grand old movie palace, is complete with Greek statuary and hand painted murals depicting Greek mythology.”

Based on this knowledge, we spent time meandering through the building, taking photos of architectural details and soaking in the history. We wanted the logo to embody both a current and art deco feel, as well as being creative and sophisticated.

We presented several different concepts and the above logo came out the winner. Derived from a detail in the building’s terrazzo floor, but updated to reflect Latchis Arts’ current mission. The colors were kept muted but rich, which exudes refinement and strength—two qualities of Latchis Arts.

We’ve received a lot of great feedback about the logo, and it’s fun driving through  Brattleboro and seeing the logo at the Latchis.

If you are ever in the area and want to catch a movie or want a great place to stay we totally recommend the Latchis Hotel and Theatre!
